RELEASE: Tomorrow’s Jobs PAC endorses Jim Himes for Congress (CT-04)

Highlighting his non-profit background, the national organization plans to actively support Jim Himes in his 2024 election.

Washington, DC (March 23, 2024) Today, Tomorrow’s Jobs, a new national group supporting Democrats with small business and entrepreneurial backgrounds, announced the endorsement of Jim Himes’s congressional bid in Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District.

Brett Broesder, the organization’s founding executive director, stated that Hime’s background as a nonprofit executive at Enterprise Community Partners makes him an excellent example of someone who can excel as a candidate and policymaker.

“Entrepreneurs and small business owners are the lifeblood of our nation’s economy,” said Broesder. “They're a driving force behind job creation, innovation, and strong communities. That’s why Tomorrow’s Jobs proudly supports Jim Himes and plans to ensure he has the support and resources necessary to win.”

Jim Himes was first elected to this seat in 2008, beating Republican Representative Chris Shays. Since then, the 4th district has swung increasingly Democratic, with a Cook Partisan Voting Index of D+13. Biden won the district in 2020 by over 30 points. The district is located in suburban southwestern Connecticut, including Greenwich, Bridgeport, and Stamford.

Tomorrow’s Jobs officially launched in late December 2023 and has made nine endorsements in the upcoming elections, including:

  • Incumbent House Democrat: Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03).

  • U.S. House Candidates: Sue Altman (NJ-07), Janelle Bynum (OR-05), Rebecca Cooke (WI-03), Hilary Franz (WA-06), Nancy Goroff (NY-01), Michelle Maldonado (VA-10), Luz Rivas (CA-29), Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Amish Shah (AZ-01), Missy Cotter Smasal (VA-02), Derek Tran (CA-45), and Joe Vogal (MD-06).

The Tomorrow’s Jobs PAC effort includes recruiting, training, and supporting Democrats with experience creating jobs in communities, including small business owners, entrepreneurs, and non-profit executives.
